Title: Saving...
Post by: Stryder88 on 16 Oct 2002, 23:31:04
(NOTE: This is NOT an editing question... it is an in game question. I would have posted it somewhere else but there wasnt anywhere else appropriate)

How do you you can save twice in a mission? I know this has been discussed before but I cant find the thread.

I'm not trying to be a weenie so that the missions arent so hard, it's just that OFP has the nasty habit of putting back your weapon loadout to the default when you click retry. As a result you have to save at the beggining of a mission to keep your weapon loadout, thus eliminating your 1 save for nothing. The only other option is to "revert" every time you die and reload your entire squad... On difficult missions, this is a real pain in the neck. >:(

Not that I advocate this method over Kaliyuga's save program, but you can open users\your name\saved\missions\mission name and look for a file named save.fps. Rename or delete it and your save option returns.

As for me, well I'm going to grab the utility above this post.

Although this is said to be a cheat :o press escape during a mission hold LEFT Shift and - on the numpad (top right corner) and then type savegame and at the top left or right corner a white message should come up reading game saved or something similar, then all you have to do is go back into the game and wait until you die :P and then load up, from where u saved. You can do this as many times as you like I believe during a mission
Hope that helps you  ;)
