Title: I said pick up the phone not the Binos!!!!
Post by: rfountain on 13 Oct 2002, 08:35:43
Hi All,

I am scripting an intro in which I need to soldiers talking on the radio on headsets.

I have seen it in several cutscenes on the official campaigns where a headset is picked up and used by the AI.

I also noticed that the animation I am using make the AI reach and pick up a headset and sit down with the hand up to his ear.  Since he is an officer, he pulls out his binoculars and places it up to his ear like a phone.  When I take the Binos away he has an empty hand.  Both look stupid and i figured that the phone handset might be a piece of equipement you can give to the soldier in place of the binoculars.

Any suggestion or wisdom would be great!!!! :D

Thanks

Robert

Try:

unit removeweapon "binocular"
unit addweapon "phone"

Believe it or not, OFP considers the phone a weapon ;)

Also, you might want to take away the phone and give him back his binoculars at the end of the cutscene... I don't think a phone would be that good in a scrap (except maybe at very close quarters ::))

In the original campain 1985, unecript the campain and
look for the mission where the cutscene shows the black
op agent talking on the phone. It shows a phone reciever
in his hand. Or you could do what most do and with a
particular angle to seem the unit is on the phone!
Hope this helps ;D
