Title: .BMP to .TGA

Hey Folks,

I searched before and found no topic that helped my so here it goes. As the subject says what is a free simple program to convert .bmp files to .tga files. I've used some freeware and all it did for me was give me corrupt .tga files. For some reason I can convert .tga to .bmp but not back. Thank you.

Have you tried Irfanview?

Available from here (http://www.irfanview.com/)


EDIT:  It seems that Irfanview doesn't save tga files as 24 bit uncompressed which means you need to use something else.
I use PSP, which isn't free, but I think you can get a 30 day trial copy.

Thank You. See I don't really make addons. I just tweak exisiting ones. Right now I'm rexturing the ninja addon.

Photoshop can solve all your problemswith bmp -> tga ;)
Hao the hell are you going to make better textures without this editor ?

Gimp photo editing. Photoshop costs money. Gimp is free.

Actually this did work for me  I just use texview to convert the .tga's to .paa and .pac's. Now theres probally a quicker way then using 3 different photo editing programs, but they cost money. :)

AFAIK Gimp is rather powerfull tool ( Photoshop linux analogue ). Are you sure it can't work with tga properly ? May be some plugins may help ?
