Title: Can airplanes take off with waypoints?
Post by: NightJay0044 on 17 Aug 2005, 00:40:50
okay i have an A10 sitting on the Everon runway, and I'm wondering how I can get it to take off from the ground using waypoints/triggers. Not sure where to start. Thanks everyone.

Manned planes take off with or without waypoints, I don't see the problem.
Just place a manned plane on the taxiway with a MOVE waypoint on his destination and he will take off automatically.

On Everon the airport is in the north (Saint Philippe), you have to place the plane with his nose to the south on the taxiway.
He will taxi, take the short turn, speed up and take off to the north.
After takeof he will make the necessary manoeuvres and turns and fly towards his destination waypoint where-ever that might be.

Use the "show textures" button in the right column of the editor, it makes it a lot easier to spot the runway.

Yup, place him on the taxi way facing the right way, and you dont even need any waypoints. Violla!

Thanks everyone for helping, Blanco, tried your idea it works, I'll I had to do was place the A10 on the runway to the southern point of it, and it' takes off going North, I had only 1 waypoint for the A10 and that was in the middle of Everon. All right now I know how. This post is done.. ;D
