Does anyone know where i can find a WORKING download link for this? Everywhere I've tried simply does not work.
-
What's WGL..?
-
a mod that changes the config to more realistic values and replaces some units.. I'm not 100% sure lol... but from what I heard it sounds good. and if something sounds good for OFP I want it :p
-
Can't blame you mate!
I read something on some OFP site earlier about a mod that changed the AI, made things more realistic, etc. Not sure if it was called WGL though. Found it via Goggle scratch engine...
-
ah found it here (http://www.squadengine.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1001).
Weighs in at 150mb so I'm gonna be quite some time on the 56k ::). Oh well..
-
Good gawwwwddd - 150mb? What does it DO..?!
-
Guess I'll find out tommorrow.. or the next day :P
-
it replaces the sky, adds a really BIG island, adds new sounds, guns, soldiers, vehicles, explosion effects, you know that kind of stuff ;D
it doesnt add better AI, your thinking of the PLA addon pack ;)
dling 150mb+/- on 56k isnt that bad ;)
-
I'm pretty sure i read SOMEWHERE that it does improve the AI... if not... what are people's experiences with changing the AI through the config? I've head you can even get them to use surpressing fire n such.
-
Oh now I'm pissed. I just finished the d/l and it's corrupt :'(
-
I downloaded it from the link posted, but I can't work out how to install it in RES 1.96 - there are no installation instructions in the docs (that I can find) nor any on their website as far as I can see.
I tried copying things into OFP folders from the zip, but am not sure where some things go. It doesn' work so far, anyway. :(
-
Copy the WGL folder into your OFP Directory (not addons or anything) and then create a shortcut to flashpoint. and use this:
<"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nomap -nosplash -mod=WGL>
Without the < >
-
it improves the ai by increasing the distance at which it can see and hear things to realistic values (default ofp ai are practically blind at >200 meters)
-
Many thanks guys - that made it work. However, I don't like the way it slows my game even more, and I'm already on low settings, so I'm not going to use it.
Perhaps by 2009 there'll be a PC which can run OFP RES flat out in any res and with everything set to max, but not for now. :)
-
My PC is low to mid range and the only mission it's lagged on so far is Abandoned Armies with the terrain set to normal cos THob said so, usually1024x768 res and everything set to full and switched on except W-Buffer which is inaccessable for some reason, and ofcourse the lovely DxDll.. This topic is moving about everywhere lol.
Half way through downloading the 5.0 beta... will see tommorrow if it works.

My last post on this as it's going very off topic.
I discovered, with the help of you folks and Avon Lady's site (some manic mom, what?!) that it was my video card settings. I'd run a Geforce Tweak utility some time ago, and had actually got things set so OFP didn't like them at all. Took me hours of messing around to get it running smoothly again (it didn't have a 'set defaults' option).
All's well, OFP RES is running in low-ish settings, but runs smoothly. Happy days. ;D

Good point. i shall 'solve' it before the mods get unhappy.
