Post by: Grendel on 25 May 2005, 18:41:55

Got the guts of this one from AvonLady, but there was a step missing:

1) In â€ËœVideo Options' set terrain detail to â€ËœVery Low'
2) Call up any island in the editor
3) Place a player on the map so you can preview it
4) Press LEFT SHIFT and â€Ëœ-â€Ëœ on the num keypad at the same time
5) Type: topography
6) Press â€ËœM' to call up the map view
7) Listen to the hard drive thrash
8) Look in your root drive C:\ and there will be an emf file of the island

To give you an idea, Malden comes out at about 20Mb, Tonal at 50Mb.

Happy planning.

Well, to get a map that I can sort-of-edit and add to with Paint Shop Pro, this is what I ended up doing:

1) Opened the .pdf file
2) Printed it...
3)scanned it with a good resolutoin and quality
4)converted it into a .jpeg with the scanner software
5)put my own stuff on it with PSP.

Kind of crotchety but it worked...

Now my new MOD will have printable maps included in the folder with things like MSR's (main supply routes) the enemy uses and such without having markers cluttering the in game map!
