Title: White islands??

anybody downloaded the "Somalia" island??It is all white and the same thing make my island (not on my pc it works right)..why?Textures folder trouble??Config.cpp?
what is a possible solution??

all the textures in paa extension are before being applyed in the island folder and then stuffed in a pbo and applyied with wrp edit.

I always assumed that it was that way cuz they used the water texture but maybe not.

Really bad I didn't rememeber if I used this texture but this could be the real error??
I hope next wrp edit comes out with this bug solved.

I can fix it but won't be till at least Tuesday as I'm currently on vacation.

Thanks man ..seems that I succeded in fixing this bug..Thank you all!!
A new island will wait you boys!!
There will be Pyramids and Vulcano's and green grass all over..
It  is a little paradise.

Any status on repairing the island Somolia? it looks like a really great island, and with Bibmi's Special Forces (Both Delta and Rangers) and and TJP's New Blackhawks and Little Birds... would make one hell of a mission!

Yeha I fixed it last night, open the map in wrp edit, select the whole island, and put a new texture on it.

LOL! im so damn slack on my answers, here I go:

un-pbo the somalia.pbo from your addons folder

un-pbo data.pbo its in your DTA folder in the flashpoint root dir.. (yeah, lol big extract, sorry, dunno any better way)

Open wrpedit, and open up the island

It will say something about flags, but nevermind that

click on the surfaces tab click add...

find the texture filename in DTA\Data folder called Heli_h

Select the whole island from top left to bottom right, the dotted line will appear, click Change in the surface tab..

save it, quit, in your addons folder there is the folder Somalia
use a PBO maker/packer and compress the whole folder into Somalia.pbo, replace the older one.

Your done, open OPFlash, and enjoy ;)

i dont think its a bug..from what i understood frmo the symptoms.

the author should have made sure that when he added those textuers, the path of his pbo in the WRP object list wasn;t followed by a " // " like " //somalia"  this wont work, and will make the textuers all white. cause they aer not read.

the way to fix it is:

- put the textures where u want int he pbo file.
-pbo the file
-copy it to the addons folder.
-go back to WRP, add texture
-from the pbo list, click add,
-browse to the pbo u just compressed with the textures, select it then hit ok.
-once its added, browse down the list where you will find the pbo file listed as "somalia" or whatever its name is...DONT choose the one with " //somalia" or "/somalia"

then save the wrp file..add it to the pbo again, and again copy to addons and enjoy.
