I was wondering if there was any way to change a unit's side: West, East, Resistance and Civilian. I would like to change over a BIS Nogova Policeman to the east side, and some civies over to the resistance side. Anyone know how to do this?

It is impossible.
Except of course at the start of a mission. Create an east office with a probability of presence 0: group the policeman under him.

Wait, can't you go in the mission.sqm and change them there? Not quite sure, buitI think I heard its possible.
-
Thanks, both responses will help. shall try them soon.

You can only set their sides before the mission start, or rather not even, you will pretty much be changing your guys default side.

I have a little theory that involves 'setCaptive'. I'm going to try it out now.

Well I'm not sure what you want exactly, but this might help you. My theory worked as I thought it was (It's actually very basic).
Download a quick example of this here:

Put it in a folder called 'Example.abel' under Codemasters > Operation Flashpoint > Users > <One of your user names> > missions.
If you don't kill the western soldier yourself, the civilian cop will. Your squad leader can't kill the western soldier because he's unarmed, and the western soldier can't attack any of the three of you because he's not armed either.
Now there are ways to twist this around if you want to mess around with different sides, but it can be pretty hard to fit the particular situation though. Just remember to set each side captive during the change.
