Title: Hex-coded config.cpp?
Post by: LennyD on 19 Feb 2005, 18:53:24
hope this isn't a re-post. tried the forum search.

i got tiered of hundreds of different directories in the mission-editor. changing this seemed easy: decompressing the PBO's and then editing the vehicleclasses in the config.cpp.
the first few worked fine - i've got loads of addons nicely sorted by country. but i have got problems with a few of the configs. they seem to be coded in hex or somthing similar. if i open them with the notepad i just get rows of nonsence:

="\9"n[]=--ü¼ÃŽ"zasleçh",##L sŸvetlo%HP|%mzadniNàâ€Â¢+04\Patçche]par{d2unití{{"A6",
ßCamo"Å    wçeap.EO120mmGUN/ßMG3A1&reÿquiredVeûrsh=1.90¼žúAmmoøDüø÷Bullet?Singü  7Á_ã+   ;#k+%2aðr*5b*DM12:â€Å¾
.%mŸ!=¿"shell"$iÏmulaC!otýSonStep?=0.050Y"¿cost=1soundHitzßExplo,s\ýe _large×1",3.E08s,1â€Â¡<Fly¶wobjÐ s\b*ÿnoise",

what do i have to do
???
thanx

i tried PBOTool by JaZzBrE, UnPBO and PBO-Patcher v0.9 by [HA]Voyager.

they all work fine on most PBO's just a few seem to have a hex-PBO.

i'm thankfull for your reply. :)

@ oyman: how do i convert / open it?

tried that one... i'm geting various error messages ( 62 and 55 ). i even redownloaded it - so it should be intact ( both addon and converter ) :'(

by the way it is def. a config.CPP not config.BIN ( or am i missing something?? )

Update: Solved the problem! It seems to be importand with which prog the PBO has been compressed!
I tried a different version of a decrypter I already had.... that was it!
Thanks Planck and oyman!
