Title: Sharp edges vs Smooth edges
Post by: Pilot on 08 Feb 2005, 01:55:45
What is the difference between sharp edges and smooth edges?

Well, if you create a cube in O2 you would want the edges to be sharp so it looks like a cube instead of a cube with rounded edges.

If you make a sphere you would want it to have smooth edges so it looks like a sphere instead of a disco mirror-ball.

Sharp edges for edges that would be sharp in reality and smooth edges to round of edges that would not be sharp.

Hope that is clear enough for you.

well they shoulnt be compared becuase you need both if you want your addon to have correct lighting. look at thes tanks for example
if you just use sharp faces the model will look "sharp"

if you use smooth faces it looks like..... uhhh..... kinda smooth or something

but if you use correct sharp and smooth faces it makes your model look good ;D
