Title: Units /group refuse to board chinook
Post by: Cellie on 02 Feb 2005, 20:52:05
Hi there.

Well, my problem is that in my latest mission it seems that in SOME cases my AI squad refuses to enter a chinook. The funny thing is that it is not every time I play the mission, and it seems that only after the CH has been damaged the squad refuses to obey. After repairing the CH they still refuse to enter the chopper. Am I missing something here?

I've noticed the same thing in some vietnam missions I've played. You fly a slick and it gets damaged, you repair it and the gunner won't go in anymore.

I think it's a general bug in ofp. The AI thinks the vehicle is unusable and they won't change their mind even after it's repaired.  :(

Hmmm so it may be the case that a second vehicle is a solution. At the moment the CH is mission critical. Oh, well...

Any other input would be welcome.

This may be a bug, I have found a bug similar to this.
I was just goofing off and was trying to make a health script that would give AI extra health, but if the soldier died even for a second the other AI soldiers just say "Oh, well he WAS dead might as well just leave him alone."

Even if he starts shooting them they just look at the sky!
This may be a bug, and if possilble I would try switching chopper with setpos really fast.

this is a pretty well known BIS bug.

ai units will not get into a damaged vehicle.
The repair truck does not always repair damage to 0
i believe the workaround, is to script a setdammage 0 command

and in your case use the getin waypoint to run that command

I had some trouble like this (but with a different heli...)
I found unit action ["getin cargo",heli][/b] worked well for me.

Just a thought.

well if you name the whole squad sol1, sol2, sol3 ect then put a trigger like
sol1 moveincargo ch47d ect maybe that helps?
