Title: Addons stop game boot

On many occassion, after loading addons for new scenarios I've run across, those addons will keep the game from booting. Then I have to hunt the zillions of addons, usually alphabetically, to winnow down the ones that are stopping the game.

My Alienware 51, is running 1.96 currently.

Any thoughts or help is appreicated.

Are you are using the command line switch -nomap in your shortcut target line?

Copy Paste your target line so I can see if it is ok.

Also, what error message do you get, if any?

After double-clicking the shortcut my screen will flash black, flash my desktop, resized, and flash black once more before returning me to the desktop with an error message. I just guessed it was a recent install of an addon that caused this.

Now, I suffer the splash screens without the no splash line added to the shortcut tag.

Addons, like whole families of addons from the same maker, will break the boot process. UCE, RED and ohter weapons makers have had to been without. Also, critical addons like barrackaddon will do the same.

i think there's likely an oversight on your part. If you paste the shortcut line here, we can help very quickly. !! Better still a captured screen with the shortcut properties window is desirable. It seems to be a  -nomap fix solution, but maybe you haven't  left spaces and semi-colons in the correct places?! :-\
