Title: Playing in First person
Post by: pazuzu on 02 Sep 2004, 07:06:52
Hi, I want to make a tank mission that is in first person only.

How do I set the mission to first person?

I'm guessing it would have something to do with  description.ext

Thanks.

that can't be configured in the map, afaik, but you can disable 3rd if played on a server or even hosted up on GameSpy

if U want it to be just first person, set it to veteran difficulty. People dont like being commanded to do it in a certain mode :P

Sometimes the missionmaker want to able to decide how the mission it supposed to be played. I lie it.

LOL, I appreciate any reply...

I once played a tank mission a long time ago that was set up just like this (First person only) & it couldn't be changed.

I like the idea & wanted to make it for Desert Malden with Desert tanks.

There must be a way...

Thanks for replying.

Nothing you do to your mission will stop people from enjoying it in 3p view if they choose to.
Deal with it and move on.

(However, one can imagine editing the server's difficulty settings. That way you can even make a vet mode with 3p view and/or cadet mode without it. The "rules" above apply to OFP per default)

It may be possible by making a continuous looping of the "switchcamera" command.
