Post by: US-Marine on 24 Jul 2004, 16:55:14
What about a MBT 70 Main Battle Tank? it is the parent  of the M1 Abrams. How could make this take ??? it looks more than a M60 instead of a Abrams!

who could help ???

What would be the point?

Not trying to bash anyone but this was a concept tank done between Germany and US primarily to produce a unified NATO tank.

It didn't even get off the prototype stage, let alone in service.
It was just to costly for that time-hydropneumatic undercarriage which the French complain today about maintaining it on their Leclerc's, was just one of it's impressive features(for the time)
The reason it looks more like an M-60 is that this was way back-'60's I think-chobham armor was a still in the future.

Later Americans upgraded their M-60's and the Germans did leo1.

If I could I try it myself , but I think there my skills let me alone  :P :-\

@rOk: I know that it is only a concept Tank , it should have rockets too , but the electronic would be damaged by the canon backstroke , it should have hydraulic springiness too , as you already say it was too expencive.

sorry for my bad english
