can anyone tell me how to check man position?(how to check a man is stand or lying)
-
This one comes up regularly: I have a feeling that there is no absolutely reliable way but search the forum, I may be wrong.
-
after searching,I still can't find any way to do this,It's not good,It's not good at all!I get a bad feeling about this.but, nobody knows it?
how this event come true:you leg broken, and you want stand, but you can't stand .this is default event in OFP game.I think it's run by a script.
is anybody knows how to check man position?

There are many things which happen in the game that can't be monitored or controlled by mission editing commands. In that sense the mission editing functionality is incomplete.
For example, there is a command handsHit which checks if a unit's hands/arms have been hit and therefore if he suffers from inaccurate aiming, but there is no equivalent command legsHit. Sadly.

but in addeventhandler["dammage",{_this exec"xxx.sqs"}]
it can check which position of man be dammage
-
*cough*
Try the canstand command ;)
? not (canstand unit): unit say "ahhh... my legs"
-
I was gonna say that. Lol, nooooob macca! ;D ::)
j/k ;D

It's soooo long since I actually read the comref ... I am entering my second childhood.
Now where did I put my stick ....
-
AFAIK 'canstand' checks if unit is able to stand. Not if he is standing or laying at the moment. :-\
-
Yeah, like if you crashes a car, you go automaticly go prone, and you cant stand up..
It checks that
Just like canmove for cars..
Only idea I can think of, it camcreate a really weak bullet, at height 1, 3 and 5 or something
And if it hits the unit at 5, he's standing, if not, make the lower one, and it hits, he's crouched, and it that does it, make the lowest one, and if that does it.. Uhh.. :P
It's not ideal, though (Never tested it, btw)

Thats a great idea! But instead of a bullet, use a GL and check the distance. I'm gonna try this out now! Will be back with a script in a while.
