OK I got this neat t-80 model with nice ERA which looks like that no one has made before, and I imported it in O2, came out really nice (except for the scale and a few textures missing), but I noticed there's only one LOD, where in other people's addons there's multiple (I opened them up in order to learn not to copy!). What steps are essential for the thing to work properly 'cos I really want to see it ingame. Pic is attached
Thanks

.3ds models dont have lods you have to make em yourself
o and by the way ive got this tank ingame already

Basicly they're lower poly counts of the model..
So when your 1km away, you don't need a perfect model.. You get lower quiality model.. But you don't notice a different, with the distance
Basicly to lower lag

To Oyman
That's great why don't you texture it and put it up for testing, cos it's a really cool model and if you're really into modelling you could try adding the shtora system emmitters. With help from scripts of course-which is actually my main problem at creating tanks.
...why is it above ground?
To DBR_ONIX
Basicaly screwed up (lo-quality) models, not so many points for roundness etc., right?

well its above ground because i made that back in the old days of adding making , so i defined it as a object and its above the x-axis in o2 which will make it float ingame.
the only thing i hate about this tank is that it is 6000+ faces

rOk : Yeah, the lods are lower quiality versions of the full model (1.00 is the best, going down to 0.0001 I guess, the 0.001 is basicly a box with texxtures)
Look at some exisiting tanks (ODOL explorer the BIS ones, look at 'em)
For lowering the level of polys, I found a programs that does it, but.. it only works on VRML files (Virtual Reality Mark Up Laungue).. So it's useless.. But that shows a program can do it, so there must be one that can work with .3ds files (I've not really looked)
