Is it possible to use maya 4.5 for making 3d models for ofp...???
if so, wich plugins do i need??
-
If maya can export models in .3ds format, then yes, it's possible. It's also possible to creat OFP animations in maya,
-
Yup, use the open menu, look in the file type box
Maya can deff be used to model stuff :)

BTW, asc is more "o2 openable" I've found :)
-
That's what i use for all my OFP modelling and texturing.
And i use "Deep Exploration" to convert to .3ds. But i think there are some plugins that will export .3ds straight from within Maya. I'm also considering writing a .p3d import /export plugin for Maya, but it's not very high on my priorities list right now.

Well if you can get around to it teacup it would help alot.
-
Yeah, that'd be cool
But can't you save the p3d in o2 to a 3ds/asc files
And open it in Maya?
Dunno

i just wanna know, cos i dont want to use o2....if i export it to .3ds...is there a way to convert it to a .p3d without o2???
-
Nope, not as far as i know.
-
Yeah there is :)
Something like P2MS in the editors depot
;)
You drag your P3D file onto the EXE, and it saves it to a ms3d file.. MIlkshake 3d I guess.. That quite a lot of programs will open (LithUnwrap, that can save as ASC and 3DS, among quite a few others)
Though its easier to use O2 :P
