Title: Help With Official ComRef
Post by: Mr.BoDean on 16 Jun 2004, 00:35:41
Hi all.... I used to use the Official ComRef with no problems ...usually opening it in Chris' OFP Editing Tool . Now all I get is the main XML page for a second , then some %&*(*^ stupid search website comes up and says "cannot be found" .   :noo:   WTH??   ???  I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0 just as I used to. I re-downloaded the XML version from the editor's depot and got the same thing.   >:(

What gives? I don't really understand html ,etc. and don't know if it is related to being online, etc.

Ok, I managed to get rid of that sleazy search site and then went to Windows Update and DL'd  .NET Framework and voila ...it works!  :o  WTH? A bonehead like me is supposed to know that I need .NET Framework to see XML files????  ::)

 :P     :P     ;D

WAIT!! Nope, only worked once ...now I'm back to those "Internet Explorer has encountered an error and needs to close.."  Error messages.    :-\   What am I missing then?

Nope, you don't need the .NET framework to open XML pages.

IE6 should manage it just fine.

If I were you I would scan for virii first.
