Ok, what is this? It's a script that ejects debris parts when a unit is hit. Now, I know that when ground vehicles are hit with AT weapons, small wreckage parts fly off, but this is still a neat effect. And it's great for planes and helicopters. Try shooting up a BMP with... say, the 30mm cannon on the Apache helicopter, looks great in my opinion.
It uses three different shapes, 2 colors (normal, and burned), sometimes it will be just a little, sometimes it'll be more, and sometimes there won't be any at all.
Note - As this is mostly an effect for weapons like the 30mm cannon, this effect doesn't work for some units, as some units doesn't detect it as a "hit"
How to use the script - this addEventHandler ["hit",{this exec "debris.sqs"}]
Please tell me what you think.

I'll check this out. Could be nice if you put up a test mission though. :(

Didn't really notice any difference. :-\

Play it a few times - The effect is random!
Just shoot the aircraft infront of you.
Here it is.

Nice! Didn't find any bugs.

Not overly flashy, but I do like the fact that I'm actually taking pieces out of a guy. :)
Maybe you could have flaming derbris like if you took chunks out of the engines of air vehicles that they would stop like they normally do and blow up sort of. Create a shower of debris or something resembling that.
-
Just off to test it now :)
Sounds cool

It seems to work.. but I couldn't see what was happening ::)
I saw a once, I think, when I grounded both plane
Hmm.. Would it work on people? :P
But it's pretty cool script, just not visible enough :(
But flaming debris would be really cool :)
EffectPack has some really nice fire effects, so look at the scripts for that for imspiration (On someone forum.. Hold on and I'll get the link..)
Heres a pic :

Last page I think

It is possible to have burning debris, but since the debris parts are drop-command-created, and not camcreated, they cannot be defined, and can therefore not have a fire/smoke effect assigned to them. By the way, I need some help with this script. Check my topic in General Editing if anyone think they can help.
-
I think those debris things that come off can have flames on them.
I just got ECP core, I know, I'm a little late for it but the explosions have the same debris you have sort of with flames on them.
Off topic: Blowing up tanks is fun, the crew runs out on fire. ;D
-
The effectspack? Fun, eh :P
Put a few fuel trucks, and surround 'em with guys.. Launch a law at it..
It's, um, interesting ::)
Anyway, enough OT stuff..
Hmm, if you can get the pos of the chucks of metal (You already have it for the drop command)
You could do more drop stuff for the fire, and setvelocity (Or what ever the drop equv. is)
And move it with the lumps of metal
Dunno?
or.. Make a new object in O2, shaped like the metal, and camcreate that, then use drop?
If you tell me what it would look like, I can do it in a few minutes for you

Well, the flaming debris made with camcreate is done, but it'll be part of my own FX mod, which I will release soon.

Cool
:)

Well, my mod is pending release on ofp.info . It should be posted soon.

Post the link when it's up ;D

Well, OFP.info still hasn't posted it... I need a host with lots of bandwidth, space is not a problem.
