Title: MUZZLE FLASH BUG
Post by: ZNorQ on 12 May 2004, 12:24:21
Hey folks!

This is probably in the wrong place - if so I do apologize.

Anyway, I'm making some Coop missions and I included the PYP_M82A1SLR_R2 rifle addon. I'm having some problems with the muzzle flash bug. An included readme file told me to browse the community for instructions about how to fix the problems myself. I've done that... Both here and at flashpoint1985.com. But no hits  :'( Can someone show me a link in the right direction!? I know it's pretty advanced stuff for a common user, but I know afew things myself, so I HOPE I can correct this myself.

(Or if someone could just tell me how to do it? (I know ABIT about Config.cpp if that's what it takes.))

Cheers,
ZNorQ

You need a prog called O2
And DePBO
Extract the .pbo file, and open the model file in O2
Cut the muzle flash, save, paste it (It will return to right place)
Save it again
Now use Make-PBO to to make the folder into a PBO

That should do it
It's nothing to do with the CPP file, sadly :(

Not the easiest if you've never used O2
Only other option, is, I'm afraid, live with it :(
Or complain to the makers :P
Gd luck

Yeah, i know about all those things... I did use dePBO to open the M82 file.. Also know about Oxygen - already got it... Reason I mentioned the Config.cpp was cus it said that was the problem in the archives comments. (Ref. Addon depot)

But ok - I'll brush the dust off O2 and give it a go!

Thx folks!

Hey again!

I've tried out this today, but I can't seem to make it work. I did as you said; Loading the model into O2, selected the "zasleh" object - cut - save - paste - save... That was on the object under the "0.000" folder (sorry, I'm not that familiar with the termonology...). I also found a "View Pilot" - double clicked that and did the same procedure as mentioned above... I used Amalfi's "Make PBO v1.1" to put it all together  and moved that new file to the res\addon directory... And; same bug appeared... Seems I missed something.. Any ideas?

People! I found it ! It wasn't O2 that was needed! It was the config cpp file missing the CfgModels part... And it worked! :D :D

CASE CLOSED!
