Ive just installed Tonal Island by BAS which is absolutely awesome. The version I got included the 2 recently released patches and was an exe file which installed itself automatically to my flashpoint folder. I am thinking of uploading it to my server but how do I do this if its an exe file?
cheers

When we added it to our server, our admin connected with remote access and ran the exe that way to get it installed. If you don't have that, you will most likely have to ftp up each file individually (OUCH)!
BTW, do you use this technique to help keep your add ons sorted? I have found it help quite a lot http://www.ofpec.com/includes/download2.php?id=587 (http://www.ofpec.com/includes/download2.php?id=587)

Ugh ....... I fail to see what the problem is, why does it matter if it's an EXE??? It doesn't. Unless for some reason you're not allowed to upload them. If thats the case just RAR or ZIP it :P

Thanks guys, Ive worked out how to do it. If you just have ftp access you cant simple run the program and install it because you cant just click on the servers drive to upload it.
The simple solution is to unzip the exe into a folder on your computer and then upload the files inside to the servers addons folder.

It does. Not all servers run OFP on Windows. They run OFP on variants of GNU/Linux which is a different kind of operating system.
In that case, one has to first patch up Tonal on the play machine and then make an archive of the patched addons and upload them to the server. Another case is, like you noted and Marshal found out, is if you only have say ftp access.

Yeah, I thought he meant upload it to a regular FTP server not an OP F server :P Sorry. And the only time I come out of LFS is when I have an OP F craveing ;)
