Title: Swapping textures
Post by: The-Architect on 02 Apr 2004, 02:46:48
I opened up the .pbo file and then took a texture from it. I changed it around a bit and then packed it up as a .PAA. There was another pic which was almost identical but was a .PAC. I changed this in the same way as the .PAA and packed it up again.

Then I put the new files back and saved the whole thing back into .pbo format.

I put the .pbo into the addons folder and went ingame to see what happened. Nothing!

The area which I had changed was exactly the same as it was before. It hould have been much different.

Why hasn't my modified area shown up ingame? I know it's in the .pbo because I checked afterwards. Will the addon not let me simply swap the textures over?

I used Photshop to do the editing.

Cheers.

 It should work..

I can't see from anything that you posted what you might have done wrong...

I do just the same thing to my own addons on a daily basis sometimes while trying to get the textures just right.....  :-\

I don't need to edit in O2 or whatever its called?
What about when I save it in Photshop?

Also I have edited the BIS chinook. Does BIS have summit to block me changing?

If you like I'll post the two files for you to try.

I fixed the problem!

I added the new .pbo file to addons, not res addons. Now it works a treat.
Look forward to some fekkin great new textures from me!
