Title: H/L to OFP w/ textures on (&& texview problem)
Post by: Teryan on 17 Mar 2004, 00:53:04
1) I have a gun I made in milk shape and saved it as a h/l modle beacue at the time I did not have a program to conver (properly) a .3ds to a .p3d.  Now that I have it converted and their is no texture on it (and have textue problems), and it seems impossible to texture the gun the way o2 does it.  So any help their would be greatly apprecated.

Any one know how to convert a H/L modle to a ofp p3d, with out having to re-texture it?

2)  Textview will no open any thing except a .pac or .paa.  Meaning that it will not open .jpg's or .bmp or .tif's.  None of that.  When I do go to open and nothing appears, just the name.  ???   Also is it natual for a .jpg to turn almost all purple when it is converted into a .pac?

Not too sure if Texview opens jpg really.

I always thought it only dealt with .paa, .pac and .tga.

Thanks for the reply.

How do you get a .jpg/.bmp/what ever into a .pac/.pacc?  I always thought you used Textview.

Try converting your jpg to tga then load it into Texview and save as paa or pac.

Sorry I can't help you with that one.

btw.......make sure your texture file size is in powers of 2.

e.g.

64 X 64
64 X 128
32 X 32..........etc

Is it normal to get purple or blue highlights around the texture you just converted?
