Title: ASE Files, Terrain Files etc for Visitor
Post by: rhysduk on 29 Feb 2004, 16:19:25
HI guys,

Wonder if you can help me with ASE files and craeting terrain files for use in VISITOR.

I have 3d Studio Max 6 and i have read the tutorial for visitor saying that you can create terrain files in this (by creating planes and editing the vertices).. what i want help wiv plz is exactlyt this..

I know how to "create" a plane .. but not get into th e 3dSMax6t window pane.. its says something about dragging there but i cant get it to work..

I want to start island editing, but i need to know how to create the terrain for using in visitor..

I have a good knowledge of VISITOR ( i think :) ) and all i need help with is creating terrain plz. ;d

Or is there an easier way of creating terrain? The visitor way is um... dodgy? i can only seems to create squares :)

Thx guys.

Rhys

I haven't worked much with visitor, so I can't help much there.

Maybe I should give it a look at and see.

With WrpEdit I usually use real world terrain from DEM data, which I then convert to a Lon/Lat Text file for importing into WrpEdit.

I use 3 other programs, Microdem, A DEM to .ter converter and Wilbur, to get the Data into firstly, a suitable Dem, secondly to convert that dem into a Terragen file and lastly to convert the Terragen file into a Lon/Lat text file for importing into WrpEdit.

Maybe I should write another tutorial.
