WrpTool is the best tool to use, it's very easy once you learn how to use it. It has all the landscaping features of Visitor, and the primary difference is that Visitor is only in Czech ::) .

If you have problems setting up WrpTool, PM me :) .

WrpTool Base v0.906 (http://flashpoint.nekromantix.com/downloads/WrpTool.v0.906.Release.rar)
WrpTool v0.950 Upgrade (http://flashpoint.nekromantix.com/downloads/WrpTool.v0.950.Upgrade.rar) (Requires v0.906)

WRPEdit is the thing I use (As it works on Win ME, and is in English.. ::) )
It's okay.. Not the best.. Theres enought tutorials etc..
And I've made a few islands with it..
It's more just a program for getting other programs files (Terragen etc) into OFP compatible stuff

I don't think that there is any ONE best editor, each has its merits.

There are somethings you can do in one that you can't in the other, etc. Visitor and Wrpedit.

Regardless of what editor you primarily use, the four basic documents you need are the CIA parts catalogs, the Ubereditor's guide, the WRPtool manual, and whatever Planck recommends - it's got to be useful.

WrpTool is the best world modeling tool out, says I :), easy to install, easy to add custom objects from addon makers, easy road tool (not piece by piece like WrpEdit or lucky strike like in Visitor), region tool (look it up guys), scaling the objects, and lots of other things. I've tryed the others and this is the most user friendly and has best tools and works on Windows 2000. Try it and find out. Btw island making takes ages so start right now   ;D

I agreed, WRPTool is better than WRPEdit (It's for editing WRP files.. Not maing em :P)
But.. One crucial difference (to me, atleast).. WRPEdit works on win me, wrptool doens't :(
But I'm getting win 2k soon :D

Or have they "fixed" WRPtool for other platforms..?

Actually WrpEdit is not just for editing world files.

You can also make them from scratch with WrpEdit.

WrpEdit is very under-rated, it does more than people realise.

Yeah, I know, I use it a lot
But it's not the easiest thing to move the terrain about.
Most people (sensible ones anyway :P) use something like terragen and import it.. Then use it to put objects on

But WRPTool is better for terrain making/editing
In WRPEdit to edit terrain, you need to select each point.. To make a nice round hill isn't gonna take any short ammout of time ::)

Anyway, when I get win 2k, I'll be able to use WRPTool

And I agree that WRPedit is accutaly quite powerfull (Even things like the integrated PBO explored thing it really handy)

But I'm not the best to agrue about this, as I've only used one of the programs :P

Actually making a rounded hill is pretty easy. There is some option that you can select where you select an area and it will make a rounded hill for you. Only problem is I haven't used WRPEdit in a long long time so I don't remember which option it is because Visitor took the place of it so sorry about that. I think it has something to do with the terrain Relative thing.
