I need a way to stage a phone conversation in the early stages of the campaign I'm working on (allegedly). I know there are various phone animations ('fxstandtotelloop' or whatever) but all this does is make the AI in question do a bad mime of holding a telephone in his hand. Is it possible for him to actually have a telephone receiver in his hand? BIS did it in the intro to the last mission of the original campaign so it must be possible somehow...

I have a feeling there is something in the FAQ - have a look. And if it's in a mission, unpbo the mission and see how BIS did it.

If you use the line:
unit addweapon "phone"
your unit will have the phone receiver in his hand when you play the animation.
Just note, that you'll need to make sure the unit doesn't have binoculars, as the phone seems to need the slot the binoculars normally occupy.
For a laugh, try it with the binoculars instead... makes a pretty stupid looking cell phone ;D

Ah good, thanks Sui. I'll try that out. And while binoculars may look stupid as a cell phone, they'd be usefule for seeing the person you're calling. It'd be like a cheap video phone for shorter distance calls...
