Hello there people. I really need help with the Ofp editor!? i haven't got any of the expansion packs and i keep on having a problem with the editor. Whenever i place my character on the map and press preview to play the mission my character doesn't show up on the map when i press M? On campaign and single player missions i can always see my character and where they are heading? Could someone please tell me how to fix this. My game version is 1.46.

By the way i have tried reinstalling the game several times!?

The problem is that the Mission Editor defaults to Veteran mode. Go back to the main menu, then into single missions and select Cadet. Now enter the Mission Editor and all should be well. ;)
Oh, and Welcome to the forum!

Please don't reinstall OFP another time ! It's normal you don't see
the player previewing the mission in the editor (you can see player's
position if he's in a plane or helo or tank, though).
Excuse me if I'm not more helpful, what I want to point out it's
that your installation has nothing to do with that.

As Macguba explained you must first start a single player mission in cadet mode, then exit the single player game and enter the editor (it would be nice if one of the future OFP patches would address this though). I usually just do a resume of the "Steal the Car" mission, that way I don't have to go through all the briefing stuff, also, since it is a very simple mission it loads quickly.

I'm not sure you actually need to start the misson. I think as long as it says "Cadet" at the bottom left of the screen that's enough.
When you are creating your mission remember that players in Veteran mode won't see any waypoints. Never use player waypoints to make things happen - always use triggers instead.

Whaddaya mean you don't have to start the mission?
I've spent more hours in "M01 - Steal the car" than I have playing the BIS campaigns!
Well, you learn something new every day, I guess... ::)

It's the briefing, you nead to reach;
back from briefing to main menu and then into the editor
will do the trick.
