Can anyone recommend a good program for recording my own speech?
-
Not sure about a "good" one.. But with windows (atleast in windows ME), there is one that can record to a WAV file..
Start Menu > Programs > Accsesory > Entertainment > Sound Recorder..
It works fine, and can increase/decrease the volume of the recorded file, speed up/slow down (Fun... ;)) and a few other effects, like echo...
But those effects are only in increase by 50% etc.. So little control..
But it works fine..
Other programs I know that record sound, with studio 8, the tool "AM Capture" can record video, and if you select your mic as an input, you can record...
Have a search on the forum, and google, and www.download.com for programs..

I used Gold Wave and Wave Surfer, (with *.ogg plugin) but somehow I didn't get along with it too good.
I recommend You DB PowerAmp!
I can't remember the links! Let me check if I find it again.
Cheers

You will need the codec to make DB PowerAmp able to convert Your sound files to *.ogg (common file type to OFP)
I found the links!
The first one is for the DB PowerAmp itself:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com
And this one is where You can find the codec to convert to *.ogg:
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ogg.htm (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-ogg.htm)
cheers!
