Title: How to make planes take off

Hi,
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere - I have searched the forum and tutorials but have not found anything.

How do you make cpu controlled planes take off? When I give them waypoints to go somewhere they just drive around on the ground.

They will only take off from a working airport, of which there is a maximum of one per island.    Put the plane on the taxiway facing south with a waypoint where you want it to go:  it will taxi to the end of the runway and take off all by itself.
