Post by: Mikeyfish90210 on 03 Dec 2003, 11:30:12
:beat:Why is it whens i set a waypoint like ages away for a truck it takes bloody ages swerving over here and overthere and crashing into bloody rocks and crap, is there like a script you can enter in the unit(Trucks) waypoint to make it effcient on the road and to save me putting like a billion move waypoints all the way along the road???
  :tomato: :beat:

If you want an vehicle move on and folow the road then set his waypoint to "safe" then he drives on the road.

Hope this helps.
If yes

Mikey, use as few waypoints as possible.      Make sure that there are no units or objects close to the road anywhere on the route, if you can.    Lastly, play with the starting position of the truck.   For some reason small changes (say one or two truck lengths) in the starting position can make the difference between driving happily down the road and zigzagging like an escort destroyer on speed.

Well done Benson, keep up the good work.   ;)

Also, try to make sure the truck is facing the direction it will be travelling, to within a few degrees. I find this can make a lot of difference.

Hey

Lol, mikey you sounded pretty pissed off ;) Doesn't matter since we all get it ;)
Anyways, about the reversing, is there . . . (Not sure what it is I wanna ask here) . . . a script or something to make a car reverse for a set amount of time ? Or do I ues the      unitname action [walkb]       or whatever it is?

lol I had this same problem before, and like macguba said, a little adjustment on the truck's position is usually all you need. a big factor I found would be if the trucks were in a group. that fucks things up alot. and i'd be pissed too if I cant find out how to do something in this DIFFICULT AS HELL MISSION EDITOR.
