Title: USGS DEM maps for TerraGen
Post by: pappavis on 06 Oct 2003, 17:21:02
Hi guys,

I have discovered a site where one can download free USGS DEM maps of the San Fransico Bay Area for use in TerraGen and thus map making.  :D

Go have a look at this site http://bard.wr.usgs.gov/ (http://bard.wr.usgs.gov/)

dude.. if you think thats cool, check this out :

NIMA
National Image and Mapping agency

http://geoengine.nima.mil

only available in 30 arc-second post spacing of elevation data points, but  that's sufficient for an OFP map ;)

and you can get  terrain maps of anywhere on the planet ;)

Hmm....  I'll start  a new topic on just how to get DEM's into Wrp format since I have just recently figured it out myself after about a week of trying
