Surely someone must have made a Russian machine gun addon. Really, it was lazy of BIS to only include the M2 machine gun, only adding one word (East) to discern between Russian and American versions. It shouldn't be hard to make a version of whatever the Russian equivelant of the M2 is.
-
Here's a really good KORD heavy machinegun here:
http://www.ofpvault.com/xoops/modules/mydownloads/viewcat.php?cid=22&min=10&orderby=titleA&show=10
Look for KORD 1.2 ;D.
-
I finally found the site I was looking for :D (Finally :P). It's ( http://www.boa.flashpoint.ru/ ). It's got a large amount of great addons, including the KORD 12.7 HMG, and a towed version of the ZU-23 (At night, the tracer patterns could almost be called beautiful 8) ). Check out the site though, it's got loads of great addons on it.
-
In fact, if you want quality addons for your new campaign, I'd recommend downloading everything on the boa.ru site. The BTR-80s are great for resistance warfare, and they'd look really good as dinged-up militia vehicles in your new campaign.
-
Ah, very nice. You're a one-man army! That's what I was looking for, I'll download them. I'll leave the post open though.
-
Hmmmmm, the KORD isn't exactly what I was looking for, though it's still quite nice. How about a lighter machine gun? I downloaded some of their other addons... they were cool. The apc pack (with the BMDs and BMP 3 and BTRs) was great.
-
what machine gun are you looking for...
-
A light-medium machine gun, I suppose. Like the M2, but Russian. I don't know much about Russian machine guns so I don't know the specific name. The KORD's bullets are a bit big, it's a bit innacurate, and most importantly it's magazine fed. 50 bullet magazines go rather quickly.
-
Ok I searched for info on Russian machine guns and I've found one that looks like it fits the bill. It's a PKMS. Anyone found an addon of this?
http://www.sovietarmy.com/small_arms/pks.html (http://www.sovietarmy.com/small_arms/pks.html)
-
ive never looked for one but id be surprised if one wasnt out there
-
Okay, I've found a mounted PK machine gun. Doesn't look all that great, but I'll try it out.
ftp://www.gamezone.cz/ofpd/unofaddons/PKmg.zip (http://ftp://www.gamezone.cz/ofpd/unofaddons/PKmg.zip)
-
Okay, well, that sucked. The sight was all wrong. Anyone else had better luck?
-
Nope. I did download Inquisitor's high-res weapons (I've heard that they're murder on weaker graphics cards :o), and if he had included a mounted PK in that pack, it would have completed it very well. His mounted M-60 was amazing, it had great textures, sounds, and it even had kick ;D.
-
and if he had included a mounted PK in that pack, it would have completed it very well
Yeh, and if I could make an addon I wouldn't need to search the web for other peoples' stuff. And if I could fly I could go on holidays very cheaply.
-
get the new APC pack at www.ofp.info
its got some russain machine guns as well as a sweet new BTR80 with cargo places on the roof....
-
i dont remember who made them but did you look through those bunker packs they have a few out some had static MGs, im not sure about a PK though
-
ftp://www.gamezone.cz/ofpd/unofaddons2/DKM_APC_BETA09.rar
This not only has some really nice russain APCs but also a couple of static MGs that are really nice... They have animated parts and HD mags, plus the models and sounds are very good.... Probably the best ones i've seen....

I've already downloaded the 0.8 version of that addon. I'm not downloading a 10mb file (on 56k) just for one machine gun. I already have the KORD. I also have two versions of the ZU23 you pictured. Why hasn't anyone made a PK?
-
The new one is worth it (and so is cable interent...) but over all its a really nice pack and better then the older one... And if your into JAM and use it in alot of your missions these are good because the sounds kinda sound like JAM sounds.....
-
Is it actually any different? The old one was really nice... brilliant sound effects, in particular for the BMD 3. Although I do wonder if these come from after Flashpoint's time period. And I wish I had Broadband. It's just the equipment we'll need (there's extra because we'd need two modems plus a router and networking stuff) costs well in excess of £200. Still trying to convince the purse string holders that its worth it. Gimme a PKMS! I actually downloaded Oxygen yesterday... don't have a clue how to use it though. The tutorial I downloaded didn't help. It looks complicated.
-
The APC pack really is excellent. It's got two types of HMGs, the KORD and NSV ( ??? ). I think that they're even lower to the ground than the old ones. Also, there's an APC with the ARENA system, which can jam some homing missiles :D.
As for the issue of cable, you're lucky compared to me. Due to my unique location (A couple miles into the woods ;D), just the act of digging the trench to the house and placing the cable tubes would cost the same amount as...let me see...buying 1667 copies of the GOTY edition at list price :P :P :P.
-
You live in the woods? Are you a bear? :o
Is the 0.9 version really worth an hour's downloading when I already have the 0.8 version? Given that there's only one extra item? I don't have JAM, by the way. It's something to with weapons, and a big download, isn't it?
I want a PKMS! :)
-
Dont forget about the new BTR-80 with the ability to carry soldiers on the roof as cargo...
And there are also desert versions of all the APCs (except the BTR-80)
-
lol just read your post Drozdov...
What you havnt heared about JAM????
http://www.ballistic-studios.com/jam.asp
It comes with the BAS Blackhawk pack along with the SOAR pilots....
-
They don't look very comfortable up there. What if they go under a low bridge? Oh wait, there aren't any in Flashpoint. Still, I'm happy with my soldiers safe inside.
And I have heard of JAM, but I wasn't all that interested in it.
-
They can still sit inside... you just have to put some game logics in the roof cargo spaces. Its just so you can carry more soldeirs than before. You should look into JAM, its really usefull... I love the sounds and the air targeting and personel targeting RPGs (perfect for BHD) and that you can carry about 30 grenades in a vest...
-
Hey, I'm not a bear. Just because I live in the woods and subsist on a diet consisting primarily of meat and berries doesn't...Oops, you didn't read that ;D.
Even if you don't want the BAS MH-60s (Which are awesome addons, by the way ;) ), you should get the pack for JAM. After all, wouldn't the resistance groups in your campaign be primarily using unguided RPGs as opposed to more expensive and rare Strelas?
-
::)
-
Isn't that a pic of the BAS HMG?
-
yes it is
-
Did you know that a bear's diet is about 70% grass?
And yes, they'd be using unguided RPGs (and RPG7s, another nice addon). But I don't see why I have to download an addon. Though I suppose the AI RPG soldiers won't target choppers.
-
Accualy... with JAM even the AI targets choppers with RPGs, if they have the right type of ammo... There are 3 types of rocket for each launcher. A normal rocket that AI will only use on armor and other ground vehicles, an AP rocket witch AI will use on peaple (and just about anything else) and an AA rocket where for AI choppers are primary targets... Another great thing is the number of rockets you can carry. All RPG rockets only take up 1 inventory space.
-
Did you know that a bear's diet is about 70% grass?
Damn, guess that means that I'm not a bear :(. Oh well, a bear's paws aren't really suited for a keyboard and mouse ;D, which would mean that I wouldn't be able to play OFP :o.
-
Huh, that was a wasted 2 hours of internet time. I don't really see anything special about this addon. JAM gives the AK74 the wrong ammo as well (5.62mm instead of 7.6mm - I can't remember the exact number so these might not be 100% right). Plus the sounds for the AK are rather quiet. And there's no burst mode. Also, the grenade launchers magically reload themselves; you can even shoot while reloading. I suppose I'd have liked this more if I played the West. The helicopters are okay but really not that special; I also suspect they may be modern. The fast rope insertion and rope ladders are a nice touch, but still... Not worth the wait.
-
Can we get back to machine guns now? I want my PKMS! :)
-
The AK-74 is chambered for 5.45mm, the M-16 is chambered for 5.56mm.
More on topic, the BAS OPFOR pack includes a nice-looking PK on a UAZ, so maybe they have a PK on a tripod. I'll go ask 8).
-
Drozdov its eaither have 30 grenades that "magicly" reload themselvs or have only 6 normal ones. Since the vest is classified as one magazine you cant reload it, since there is nothing to reload. It does also give you the ability to carry normal ones if you would rather reload after every shot than have more shots...
Back to the machine guns... I have a mounted PK but I dont know where I got it. It fires 100 round mags and uses default PK sounds, but looks unrealistic. I think the best thing thing for you to do is wait for the OPFOR pack.
-
Ok after playing one of my many JAM missions I took a look at the ammo names. Heres a chart.
M16/M4 - 5.56mm (30 rd)
AK-74/AKS-74U - 5.45x39 (30 rd)
AKM - 7.62x39 (30 rd)
G3/FN FAL - 7.62x51 (20 rd)
PKM - 7.62x54R (200 rd)
M60 - 7.62x51 (200 rd)
SVD - 7.62x54R (10 rd)
Remington 700 - 7.62x51 (5 rd)
And Drozdov, JAM is perfect for East Vs. Res fire fight missions
-
I stand corrected, the AK74 does use 5.whatever mm ammo. Still, JAM isn't all that impressive. And I never do East vs Res, only Res vs West or East vs West. I do have a mounted PK but it's sight is all wrong. The black mask thing obscures the actual aiming point, if you understand what I mean.
-
JAM is just perfect for Res in general. Because they steal pretty much everything they have, their equipment is very diverse. JAM allows resistance fighters to carry a big diversity of weapons that have shareable mags. Plus the HD versions can help to make units seem untrained and very inaccurate. The sounds and tracers also make it very cool... especially at night.
-
I'm beginning to warm to JAM, especially the HD (whatever that stands for) units. Nice prolonged firefights... more realistic in some ways. Otherwise even the units with skill 0 will shoot you in the head from 500 metres in a couple of tries. Nobody's that good.
But back to machine guns. I've tried to work out how to make addons in Oxygen but I don't think I have the patience to learn. If anybody wants to make a PKMS then I have a few pictures and technical specs you could use... just ask me and I'll zip em and upload em.
-
Yes we all love JAM ;D and btw HD stands for High Despertion (oh god i cant spell) anyways it means the bullets spread out more and the gun is less accurate (it works best on AI). Well back to the machine guns. I know a little bit about o2 but im not too good, but maybe ill try to make one (probably not but ill give it a try).
-
If it's a mounted PK you want, then DL Fortress OFP's MG pack.
It also includes AA mg, mounted M60, different variants of the M2 and a 30 cal mg.
Here's the DL link ftp://www.gamezone.cz/ofpd/unofaddons/mgpackres.zip
-
And there's no burst mode.
Sorry to drag this back onto the JAM topic, but the AK47/74 does NOT have a burst mode in real life, BIs included the burst mode on their AK's to control the AI's ammo useage.
-
Well, i've just taken a look through all posts in this thread,
and i noticed that you probably still haven't tried out
the NSV 12.7 UTES (correct me if i'm wrong).
I'm not sure, if this one was already in 0.8, but if not
i'd suggest you to examine this one ASAP.
The KORD was also the first one i tried (upon that it's
the first mg you find when scrolling down thru the
menu), but i didn't like the optics it features.
A bit later i thought why not try out the NSV, and then i
got impressed :o
The NSV has just the ironsight and sounds brilliantly kewl.
AI even starts firing onto apc's.
One of my favourite playing around thingy has becom:
LSR russian federational special forces (player's side)
versus:
a couple of: resistance - JAM/HD
and a few: empty NSV 12.7 UTES HD + 1 group per gun with a simple getin waypoint onto the gun. This makes 'em remount the gun, after the previous gunner has gone to heaven.
All this put together into some kind of CQB fights, e.g: in
KABUL on jellalabhat island, or in Lippany, or even as an
ambush by resistance on a russian convoy.
So: if you haven't tried it yet, you should
P.S: if it's the caliber you don't like, then sorry but it's the
same as the KORD has.
P.P.S: The guns from ofp.fortress are off course also worth
being tried.

I downloaded the KORD as a separate file from flashpoint.ru so I don't have the NSV. Is there anywhere the NSV can be downloaded on its own? There were no machine guns in the 0.8 pack.
Actually I quite like the KORD optics. The only problem is the fact it uses magazines (or very very small belts) of only 50 rounds and this disappears quickly.
I've just downloaded the addon pack and it has a mounted PK. I'll see if it's any good... thanks for the link.
-
New KORD model in apcpack 0.9 have nothing to do with my old Kord add-on. New one has completely new model and textures. Almost everything new, even config and HD mode (for single player only)
-
The mounted PK in that pack doesn't have any sights! Otherwise it was ok... but still.
Do you plan on changing the 0.9 pack or will this be the final version? I won't download anything until the last version is out; otherwise, if I use the 0.9 pack in a mission then nobody else will be able to play it as most of them will have the 1.0 version.
-
The mounted PK in that pack doesn't have any sights! Otherwise it was ok... but still.
I'm not sure if we talking about the same packâ€Â¦ but there is NO mounted PK in beta 0.9 / 0.8
No one push you to download this pack. You can wait for 1.0 if you want. But even if you build your mission with beta 0.8, they will still work with 1.0, because classes' names for units will stay the sameâ€Â¦
-
We're not, I was referring to another machine gun pack that someone suggested I download, not your APC pack. But it's good that I can use 0.8 without making things incompatible.
By the way, it's a very nice pack... great sound effects, in particular the driving sound. Best addon I've downloaded. Good work. :)
-
Here's a zip file of all the data and pictures I've collected of the PKMS. If anybody feels like making this then I'll be eternally grateful. :)
