Title: Mountains with CAVES...

How about a few different types of CAVES?????? :o
That is what I am missing.
I'm making my own by stacking rocks on one another but that isn't quite it...
It works but I mean neat mountains with maptextures,bushes and a few openings to get into them,maybe even a small base set up in them with defencepoints and such.....something that blends in the landscape.
I can't YET make them myself in O2 but some1 with experience could do it in a few hours flat I think.

the problem is that any complex, sort of realistic cave would have incredibly high polygon count

CAT's Afghnistan map has caves on it and you can select them seprately in the empty objects list too (or under camera or something)

Thanx mikeb 4 the heads up,and where can I find this map?
And Gundam007, perhaps it is possible to create multiple rocks that fit one another so you can build your own cave out of that?Maybe even so you can decide on your own how big the cave must be.
I guess it takes a lot less polygons to create rocks than a complete mountain... ???

to v3 of CATs island.  I think it only has one variation of a cave and it's quite narrow.  like a mine, but it's not bad as an example.

Like mekab sez: the CAT-cave is more like a mine but it is EXACTLY what I'm talking about!Only thing is what I want is a real cave at the end of that pathway in the CAT-cave/mine where a few tent or such can be placed.
A rock with a pathway leading to a larger area to rearm/start/end/put mission objective etc.
Seeing the example mekab gave me it shouldn't be a problem for a more experienced 02 user.
So if u want to give it a shot let me know and I'll be glad to test it!!! :cheers:

Nice cave pics especially the last one!  :)
I really hope they can make some good caves some day, i have seen a cave over at www.operationflashpoint.cz (don't worry you can choose english there on the site and alot of other languages too :D )

Sorry 4 the late reply but i've been away 4 a while so....
But I've found some more cave types at @war a hidden base with doors and another cave but its missing the rear section of its textures.
But i'm glad to see that caves are getting more and more attention and that there are people who put a good effort in this ;D so this topic is solved as far as I'm concerned.Thanx 4 the replies every1 Ill come up with sumthing else to put your thoughts over :P
