Title: ECP BETA close
Post by: snYpir on 31 Aug 2003, 02:34:25
The Enhanced Configuration Project is nearing completion, thanks to BIS and the 1.92 patch (fixing the init EH bug).

It is simply a mod for flashpoint, providing a large range of effects that will be implemented across all campaigns and missions (including MP missions), completely customisable thanks to text config files.

The beta testing process will start soon, and will be ongoing as we add new features. There is, however, two things that we need help on right now.

We want to include a range of different intro cutscenes, just to make things a little different. If you have the time and the skill, please put together a cutscene using default units on the default islands and send it to me at morpj97@hn.ozemail.com.au. We'll include it in the next release and add your name to the team.

We need suggestions for good .bin modifications. These include more realistic weapons or longer ranged AI. If you know of one, or a link to information about one in a forum, please let us know so we can approach the author.

Thanks, and we'll keep you posted ;D

The files are not corrupt but you have received a bad download.
Try these mirrors:

http://toadlife.net/ofp/downloads/addons/ECP_DR.zip

Which of those is the one with the Dynamic Sound pack?
Becuase not one of them have the same file size as the Dynamic sound pack version on the OFPEC server.

That download link is the one without the sound pack am I right?

Since I tried it and it didn't make any real differance in sounds.

Yes you are correct, the ECP_DR at toadlifes server is the wrong file. I will talk to him about this.

But then why such a big differance in file size between the one on the OFPEC server and the one you gave me?
The one on OFPEC server is about 20Mb's while the one you gave me is about 3mb's.

I will reupload the proper ones but you need to find some more mirrors. My bandwidth limit is halfway gone allready and it's only the 9th!

Don't be suprised if they suddenly dissappear around the 15th of this month. Extra bandwisth charges are reduculous with my host.

The new files are up:

http://toadlife.net/ofp/downloads/addons/DynamicRange.zip
http://toadlife.net/ofp/downloads/addons/ECP_Beta_1.0.zip
http://toadlife.net/ofp/downloads/addons/ECP_Dev_1.0.zip

I'm going to sign up with a new webhost that gievs 50GB of traffic intead of the measly 15GB I get now, so hopefully I can continue to mirror stuff for OFPEC.

Great addon, now I have a question/request. Could it be possible for you people in your next release to fix the memory map error??? Cause as far as I've heard. 1.94 does't really do that.

I could be wrong here, but to my knowledge the ECP project has nothing to do with memory handling or that error...

However, for me and everyone I've talked to.. The 1.94 patch fixed that problem!   ;D

You should get it.  I've had no problems at all with it and haven't heard of any.   ;)

Asmo is correct kgb, if you are using 1.94 try using the -nomap command.

i use OFP Res. v1.96. i got the latest version of ECP, and it worked great...for a while. after using it for about two weeks, i would get an error saying that there was a problem with my video adapter being out of video memory when i tried to play OFP ECP or regular OFP. i found this odd, as without waiting after this error i was able to play Battlefield Vietnam, which uses way more system resources then OFP ECP. I ended up reinstalling OFP and Resistance to get them to work again. I love ECP and would like to get it back, but i also don't want to end up reinstalling OFP again. does anyone know how i could solve this problem so I can use ECP again?

P.S.: sorry about the long post.

i think thats just a bug i just reinstall it and it works fine again.
I also have a problem or it might be mt own problem sometimes the sounds go quiet for a little while and then go back to normal i think its something to do with the amount off addons i have but just if its not ive reported it.

This is the wrong thread, but ....

It probably doesn't have anything to do with OFP/ECP! Probably just windows getting in its usual messy form, try updating the your HW drivers, cleaning your HD, get rid of whatever is taking up memory. (Onboard Videocart?)
