Title: make it legal
Post by: norm on 23 Aug 2003, 02:30:12
Newbie, created my first addon.A set of uk soldiers using the kmmint.soldier, however the weps pack was a problem and I used mainly bibs ukweps and added the pcw fn and some weapons I scrounged from the mlv mod,and some textures once again from bib.Is there a way to obtain permission from said authors other than obtaining all these e-mail adressesand emailing them personally, like through this forum for example.   ???

Yeah, I think that is fine, although I'm not an authority on it, from a legal stand point there is nothing they can do, but it's standard OFP protocal, and common coutesty to ask permission so I'm sure an IM over OFPEC is fine  ;) does that help?

I strongly suggest you send them all an e-mail if you can get a hold of their e-mail adress. But as long as you have gotten in touch with all of them and gotten the OK it doesn't really matter which form of communication you use. However, use the private message function on the forum rather than create threads for them to reply in.

There was a thread before discussing addons and copyright, you might find some more information on do's and don'ts in there.
Here (http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse/index.php?board=4;action=display;threadid=5103) is the link.
