I need some help using the oxygen modeler. I know how 3D modelers work, but doing fancy stuff, such as creating narrow long cylinders, hemispheres (with polyhedras on them), and other stuff like that, I need some serious aquaintence with. I mainly need to find out what certain things mean like LODs. To explain my problem in a simplified matter, I just need a tute that is sort of like a help file that guides you through the environment (sort of like "Oxygen for Dummies").
The tutorials I read, sort of put you out of your mind of creativity, therefore not showing you how to use the modeler. I just need to know how to perform fancy things and get out of this deadlock.
Thank You

There is a create> Object or something like that in the menu up the top.
Im saying this from memory, so it may not be accurate.
Anyway, u can create spheres and cylanders there...play around with the values it asks you for to get something that is right size, but what i usualy do is create a cylander of any size, use the scale(icon on bar at top, next to rotate(use values such as 1.4 to make it bigger, 0.5 to make it smaller, but it doesnt need huge values!) to get it to the width i want, then select one of the ends, press x or y buttons to lock the corresponding axis, (so it only moves one way, thus not going out of line) and drag it till its the length i want.
Spheres you'll have 2 play with the values more, but scaling still works :P
Hope that helps, i cant really explain lods well because im not good at them myself :(

if u want some help, give me a few private messages via the forum, or emailing me. I could help you build a unit using 3dmax and importing it into O2 if you want some really complex items like holes which cannot be created in items via 02. swift out

can you build models in autocad 2000 and import them into O2?

gadolinite,
Just to clarify: I wasn't implying you wanted to pirate it, I was just offering a gentle reminder to everyone before someone started posting links to Warez sites, etc.
