I have an idea why cudn't OFPEC have monthly awards, like:
Best Mission played in that month.
Worst Mission played in the month.
Best script released in that month etc.
Than whoever wins these can have a prize ;D . Like a Mars Bar or sumthing along those lines. Im jibbering i'll shut up. ;D

Never thought about that sounds like a good idea. Whaddya think OFPEC administrators? :)
Note: We can't let the site become something of a novelty, it does have standards ;)

Yeah you could give out awards but aren't the ratings enough? a 8 or 9 is a very good mission, close or equal to BIS standards. If you get a 5 or lower, well you need to improve.
Awards would make ppl rush to get things out in time for awards. And if no good missions or scripts are submitted then someone with a mission called, "Flying birdy poop on you" with a rating of 0.5 can win.
The ratings are what make OFPEC a classy place. Doing good here is like doing good in the majors in baseball. Everywhere else is the minors. (hey a metaphor!) I have heard that OFPEC has some of the toughest grading systems and reviewers.
(Those mean old farts :D)
I say leave it as is.

The question about awards has been raised many times before. At some point there were quite realistic plans for it too. However, every time the idea has crashed to the complexity of arranging it and the simple need to focus the few resources OFPEC has. In other words, there's not enough resource to pull it off, in any classy way anyhow.
As Roach said above your cheap substitude is to consider the ratings as awards. Also earning the 'OFPEC approved'-stamp on your mission is the mother of all awards. 0/10 could be the award of the worst mission.
I think rating scripts is a no can do at the moment.
A mentioning on the main page news could be a nice and simple solution to run this awards idea. I think everyone submitting stuff to OFPEC would be thrilled to see his work mentioned on the front page.
I don't speak for the OFPEC administration, so don't quote me in anything ;)

i really do have to agree that this site rulez! i also agree with that best mission reward thingy. i think that some of the mission testers each month pick out a few missions and then vote, and the one that gets the most wins a ... m.... hey give me a few to think... lol ::)
