Hello new to the forum but a true veteran of OFP.
With all the recent enhancements made to improve the playability of OFP, why is it that nobody has made new an addon to improve/modernise the binoculars in the game?
-
About the only way to improve the current binocs is to add zoom to them. Maybe an accurate mildot range finding reticle., although if you lead a group, you can get the range automatically.
-
Oh i would say there is indeed something more, worth
to be included in new binoculars:
what about:
Night Vision
Red-sight (remember the terminator unit addon)
target-lock option (not sure if that would be any possible)
off course target-lock + automatic range finder showing up
in numbers (anybody seen the binocs, luke skywalker was
using on tatooine ;) )
possibility to fire your weapon (pistol) with binocs on
(off course very inacurate then) - that should work, as
it does work with NVGoogles too
and last: throw binocs - imagine you run out of bullets and
nades, there's still a binoc which you could throw onto your
enemy ;D
:edit - btw, just got one more binocular idea:
one eye binoculars with transparent surroundings screen
That way you could still have an eye onto your teammate
wether he's doin crazy things to your misses or not,
while you're observing the horizon 8)

id rather see a spotting scope as a secondary weapon for the sniper/spotter team
with some sorta of ranging ability or an automatic range finder or something
-
If someone can do the model/textures for the spotting scope and reticle (accurate mil dot please), I already have a script for targeting/rangefinding etc just waiting to go...

sounds like a plan all is needed is an addon tog o with it
-
I could do the model and textures (Most likely, but I've not long started out add-on making).. If some one emails me a picture of one..
I wouldn't imagine it being that difficult, so shouldn't take long..
I couldn't much else (Config files etc).. But the model/textures..
:)
