Title: Cold War Assault Using Modfolders ?
Post by: eegore on 03 Jul 2011, 11:54:54

So I updated to the 1.99 version of OFP, now called ARMA Cold War Assault but none of my modfolders work.

Addons work only if placed into the vanilla AddOns folder.

I use the shortcut properties version and  " -mod=@adds -nosplash " will result only in the no splash screen happening.  No addons are available.

  Anyone have any ideas?

Works here. Make sure your mod folders are in the CWA folder and not the OFP folder if you have OFP installed. My target line for running the FDF mod:
Code: [Select]
"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma Cold War Assault\ColdWarAssault.exe" -noMap -noSplash -mod=@RedHammer;@Camel;finmod

Hmm I don't know what to do different.

I'm running Vista and its always worked the same.

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\Arma Cold War Assault\ColdWarAssault.exe" -nosplash -mod=@ADDS

The only way I can get addons to work is if I place them into the regular addons folder, which of course is a pain considering all the modfolders available.

Make sure your registry for CWA points towards the folder it is installed in.

Make sure you're not using old executables.

Ok thanks for the help here.  I'm not understanding two things:

Registry for CWA, I don't know what that is.

Old executables, not sure on that one either.

Sorry about this.  The folders are layed out like the shortcut says, and the no splash works so I just need to learn what these other parameters are.

  Thanks for the help

By executable, I mean the game icon that launches the program. Right click on the icon, select properties and click inside the "Target" field to view the entire executed path. Just make sure you have your mods installed inside the folder where this Target field is pointing to. It works fine for me too.

Update: I restarted my computer, changed nothing and now it loads the modfolder.  If I place more addons they wont appear in the game until I restart my PC.  Weird eh?

  Thanks for the help everyone.

Um , That IS pretty weird. Usually it only takes a restart of the game.
