Title: older versions of OFP
Post by: MPME on 29 Mar 2005, 06:24:12
 ??? ??? ???
so many times when i have been going through either the addons or missions depot i have found a download that sounds perfect and i was about to click on the download link when i see the version required, and have to keep hunting.

Anyone serious about making stuff for OFP should consider us with earlier versions of OFP.

i know someone with version 1.46 still and he hasn't found anything on OFPEc that he can use.

so think about backwards-compatibility.

please e-mail me with any comments at: ohard1@eq.edu.au

Resistance may be hard to find, but its very cheap. And you only need 1.75 then a few downloadable patches sends you to 1.96. The only reason I see that people can not make things backwards compatible is that BIS either added, deleted, or changed commands in each version, they also changed the units (handgun for example), and prolly changed the coding on some units and the game itself to make it more streamlined. So certain addons may need something that's in res and not in 1.46, its just a mess to do. I think, I'm no addon maker. ::) ;D

Man, you got 1.0... Editing in 1.0 is like trying to pick your nose with a shovel. ;D

You can update 1.0 to 1.46 free of charge (providing that you have a legal copy of flashpoint) which is a thousand times better than what you have right how.

Anyway, where's the mission idea?
Yeah, didn't think so.
