I know that this probably is not the right forum for this question, but the general forum has not been used since around march. I'm not new to ofp but i am fairly new to arma. I bought it when it first came out and then found i could not play it well on the older computer. I uninstalled it and put it away for awhile. Now i have reinstalled it after upgrading video components on the computer. I'm not sure what version it is but i know that there apear to be so many patches and upgrades that im completely lost on how to bring it up to current version, the one that everyone is using.
I remember this also being a problem with the oringinal flashpoint as well, the minute you stop playing you begin to fall behind.
Also would like to know what is now available for arma after being patched to the current version. Are there any upgrades to the editor or extra objects that can be added to the editor.
If this is in the wrong place then please point me in the right direction, I apologize in advance if it is.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
If there is an all in one patch, (lol) i would love the link to that so i dont have go through all the version changes.
:good:

Well, the only "last" official patch is 1.08, anything else are beta patches. So, I would say you only need to install ArmA and then 1.08 over it. And no, 1.08 will not provide you any large list of new objects available from the editor, you still need to install an editor update addon (similar as with ofp).

Thanks for the quick response where is the best place to find all the patches and updates, seems searching the net doesn't really give me many hits, or they are very confusing. Before this site updated to ARMA i remember being able to find everything on it, but im not seeing the updates on this site.
Thanks again and keep up the great work.

Hey Will,
Actually, you can find the 1.12 beta patch right here (http://www.ofpec.com/ed_depot/index.php?action=details&id=319&game=ArmA&type=to&cat=me) on OFPEC along with the 1.09b and 1.11b patches under tools in the Editor's Depot.
Depending on what version of the game you have, you will need to choose the right version to take it to v1.05 unless you have the US Atari version
Then patch to 1.08, next patch to 1.12b.
I don't think you have to patch to 1.09b through to 1.11b first although I may be wrong on that.
Version history:
Version Build Description
1.00 5087 Morphicon + Cenega release
1.01 5094 Patch
1.02 5103 Patch
1.03 5116 Demo
1.04 5121 European 505 release
1.05 5136 European patch for the 505 edition or the international patch for the Morphicon/Cenega versions
1.05 5143 Public beta patch
1.06 5151 US Atari release
1.07 5154 International beta patch
1.07 5157 Beta patch fix
1.08 5163 International patch or Queen's Gambit
1.09 5208 International beta patch
1.11 5244 International beta patch
1.12 5252 International beta patch
You can find v1.08 and the other patches here on ArmA.info (http://www.armedassault.info/index.php?s=a419723681d891708e37712d18fc1f05&cat=patches)

I got ArmA on v1.00 Czech Version, I update through international patch straight to 1.05, then to 1.08, then to 1.12.

How do you tell what version of the game your running. I believe it is the Atari version for the US. It was bought from a store and not downloaded, and I live in the USA. It is the original version with no mods at this time.
Thanks again for the help

ArmA: Combat Operations is the Atari US release, it's version 1.06 out of the box.
ArmA Gold is ArmA:CO + Queen's Gambit together and is version 1.08 out of the box.
It should say which version you're running from the main menu screen with Play/Multiplayer/Editor/Options/Exit on it. Bottom left corner. Version: 1.12.5252 for me, using ArmA Gold patched with the 1.12 beta mod.
As Denz said, if you only have ArmA: Combat Operations, you'll defiantly need the 1.08 patch. Then you'll probably want the 1.12 beta patch.
