Im makin a coop mission, though i dunno where to start.
So give me some tips, hints and ideas.

Make it just as you would make a SP mission, only with units on the player's side set to "Playable".
If you're looking for ideas in general, you can:
- Play coop missions that others have made
- Read a book
- Watch a film
- Browse the Mission: Ideas (http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse/index.php?board=22) board.

you really cant come up with a mission idea? or are you just lazy like me??? ??? ;D
just remember that almost every main military scenario has been played countless times, and has been beaten to the ground. just think of sumthin that has never been done.
-find enemy base and call in artillery strike
-infiltrate petrovice by via mechanized infantry, move into apartments, extract a prominent resitance leader, this is when your armor gets ambushed, and your forced to pull out via choppers.

Some other idea's:
- Take an airfield and hold until relieved
- Lase an enemy HQ
- Ambush convoi
- Delay an advancing enemy force
- Long range recon
- Search and rescue

I suppose the main thing to consider in a co-op mission is balance - you don't want a mission where only a certain soldier or squad has any chance of survival or meeting an objective!
And remember that although players may be allocated as part of your squad - they are HUMAN individuals and won't always follow your "orders" :P
Err - and pretty much what all the other guys have said :D

Here's a really good one..
There's a special 2 part Magnum PI.
Where Magnum goes back to rescure his old commander.
You start in a boat with TC, Rick, Higgins, and someother guy.
And you come on some guys who shoot you.
Then you get out of the boat.
Rick gets shot and they do some funky blood letting.
TC has to fix the chopper.
And Mangum and this other guy go out to kick some VietCong asses. But, they get captured.
It ends with some more VietCong ass kicking....
How's that?

Well heres an idea, have like an assult on an enemy base. Put in a ground force with an Officer, a Black Op, a Sniper, and an AT Soldier. Also put like a group of 2 playable pilots with A10(LGB)s somewhere else. THen ut i nsome enemy armored for them to take out and like put a shilka for the infantry to take out so like each team has a big part in the mission.

Why not have a mission as a special forces team operating behind enemy lines, destroying insurgent camps.

You want to make something worthwhile.... start with this premise....
Figure out all those little annoying things that AI soldiers are too stupid to do.... and that's what you use the Players for...
Perfect example is CQB.... no way you could get this to work in a SP mission (well not like it should at least) but you change it to MP and you have a fun mission...

yeah, like i was saying, move in via blackhawks, hmmvws, or apcs, clear out the 4 story apartment bulding, full of snipers and bodyguards(you can fit 11 snipers in a the 11 "sniper" waypoint positions of the 4flr apartment)
this is when enemy reinforcements move in, and blow up your ride outa there, and surround your building.
thus, you gotta move it to the roof, extract via chopper (human controlled).
