Title: How to animate oil pumps?
Post by: HedgeHog on 14 Dec 2008, 14:06:53
How can I animate the oil pumps near Cayo, in Southern Sahrani?

In OTK's campaign Status Quo they move up and down, so it's possible to make them work.

I tried to unpbo the mission and see if there was any .sqf or .sqs script to make them move, but I was unsuccessful.

Any idea? :dunno:

Thank you in advance! :) ;)

They're automated automatically. No scripts are required to make them do so. :)

No, they start their anim, then, after not even a second, they stop and remain frozen all mission long.

But in some cutscenes/intros I saw them moving up and down steadily. :dunno:

How should I deal with them?

That's odd, I've never experienced that. They always move for me. :dunno:

I think the pumps were fixed in 1.14 patch, or the one before that.
Originally they didn't work.

h- is right.  They "fixed" the oil pumps with patch 1.14.  But IMO they fixed them too good, because they now will not stop.  I wrote a nice burning exploding oil script for pumps placed via the editor, but patch 1.14 makes it no good because after I explode, tilt, and sink the pump partly in the ground, the pump keeps on pumping and looks stupid.

But if all you need is working pumps, upgrade to patch 1.14.

I didn't actually think to ask if he had v1.14 installed, figured he would have...
