the topic is the question. I been faily sucessful in getting a ton of great addons and making my own missions and i thank all the coders out there, but has anyone reached a limit to how much you can put in your addon directory.
-
there isnt any limit i think
-
if i remember some people have 10GB's of addons
-
ive got over 700 addons (Different)
and about 5 gigabytes
the only limits are the following
your processers processing ability while playing operation flashpoint
and
Your computers disk space
those are your only addon limits
-
well i have added alot a bunch off addons today and now it says I am running low on video memory. Anyway how does one increase this.
-
well whats your video cards MB level/Is it onboard?Whatd the MHZ of it?
-
(Uner win xp.. But it's pretty much the same for all windowsss)
Control panel
System
Advanced
Virtual Memory
Set it to system controlled, or atleast something very high (If you have a bit harddrive, set it to as high as it will go)
Gd luck

you might also want to amend your ofp.exe shortcut that you use to start your game as follows
Right click the exe shortcut
in shortcut tab, go to target box
add -no splash -no map as in the example below;
This deals with memory issues associated with bloated addon folders.
....[X= your drive its installed on]
"X:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nosplash -nomap
nb, using another/second shortcut for the same mod, without the added ending above will not give you the same memory benefits.
As for memory on computer, if you have XP and use NTFS system, consider putting OFP in its own Partition, with a tool like Partition Magic.
You could also add extra ram , so windows page file/virtual memory needn't be accessed frequently.
