Title: How many addons do ppl have?
Post by: p00_p00 on 30 Jun 2003, 04:17:45
Just wondering how many MB ppl have of Addons and what limit can the OPF Engine take (siince i hear ppl say that eventually OPF will crash)

I have 495 MB in my Cold War Addon folder and 586MB in my Resicistance Folder. So taking away doubling up (some addons I have in both folders for some reasons) I have around 900MB or Addons (including the ones that came with Recistance).

Also my OPF takes longer and longer to load now, and is sometimes really slow (never was before) so I think Im near the limit

How about everyone else?

I have about 150 or so addons.  What I recommend you do is set up mod folders.  I have them all organized and just use a designated shortcut to start the game.  I would recommend you do the same.

Look into using MOD folders:

Ed Depot Link: Using mod folders to organize addons (http://www.ofpec.com/editors/resource_view.php?id=520)

This is a great way of organising your addons and speeding up OFP again.

I have about 1gb, but not the memory map error is my problem, the games just crashs ;D
Don't ask me why, but when i use an AddOn Manager to deactivate some AddOns it runs pretty smooth.

Nothing against Mod Folders, but i don't think that method isn't flexible enought for ppl with many addons. You should try the DKMM AddOn Manager, should be faster and easier to get rid of the AddOn errors.
