Yo dudes, im giving an idea that will make ofp islands look a lot more realistic... how about creating Volcanoes.. that ones that erupts, spit lava etc.. this would be a fantastic addon!

I think this is not possible with the OFP Engine :-\
I only know one realistic Island but there are so many objects and trees and she is small and your PC would not work if you try these Island , i have an AMD 2200XP (2200Ghz , 512MB Ram) and the Island don't start and the PC gives up :P
search on ofp.gamezone after "Midship Island"

well even that one is still not to realistic, 5 meters is still just to far for cells, but there getting close.
Now if they found a way to have some cells be 50 and the places where elevation changes be like 3, then it wouldnt be as laggy
midship worked on my comp, but its too smal to really do anything

Look for Stunt island, pretty small and crappy, but had some sort of volcano. Spouted smoke and had a large drop to it. But like I said, pretty bad island unless you're using nitro scripts. ::) ;D

i have stunt island, i never saw it spurting smoke but there is a 1000m high volcano type thing
i prefer the 10km pillar, its fun with a halo guy
jump off, fix dinner, steer a bit, eat, watch tv, then come back in time to land

Didn't someone make a giant fortified hill for vietnam era playing, but it was really four objects you had to put together? It might end up like that if you made it one addon, or just a big file size. :P

Pretty cool, eh? Unfortunally, I can't texture any addons :'( I don't know anything about texturing, but I know something about modelling.. If you're interrested to texture this, please contact me! :P

Wow! Fantastic, great work serial Killer.... this one will sure be good when it is finished... Also, if people like this, will you start making more volcanoes? You know, more flatter volcanoes, smaller volcanoes etc etc... this is a good model so when it is finished, i bet it will be great..

Just a little nugget I'd like to add.. If you have artillery firing from inside the volcano it'll make like lava balls spewing out of it. or camcreate shells or something. eh eh EH?

I don't know. It's not ready yet :) But let me look, how big it's right now! Hmm.. Right now it's 305kt

Sure, I will do better volcanoes if you like it! Just a little bigger and some funny effects to it..
Ps: Good news! Someone wanted to texture that addon, so it will be ready in.. 4-5 days.

I fixed those textures, because that Volcano looked like a big rock. And how do the new textures looks with Nogova's textures? Let me show you... 8)

Look at the bottom of that Volcano! You see that grass on it? I can put more grass there, if you like. I try to make it realistic, so give me feedback from it.

Hmm, I dunno.. It's good for first addon. But aren't volanoes usualy wider at the base?
Can't wait for it to be finished though :)

Sorry, I've forgot to change the situation. Now it's 90% :P One of my friends are making some cool effets to it right now. I've just putted there some flaming effects at the top of that Volcano ;) Pictures coming soon, when I have time..

Sorry ppl, I'm not going to create lava for that Volcano, because it's too hard, etc. etc. BUT, if you know how to create some lava, please contact me at tomi.koivula@kotinet.com or by ICQ at 259471106.
Tommorow I will make some falling rock to that Volcano ;) You'll see some rocks falling inside from that Volcano. Hmm.. If they hit you, you're dead (http://ofp.gamezone.cz/forum/html/emoticons/devil.gif) Muahahahaaa!!!

Ok. I'm going to publish it tommorow. I'm sorry people. There's no lava for it. It's too hard for me, so I can't create it :( But you can use that object as burning decoration on your missions. :) Last thing what I'm creating on it, it's falling rocks and burn effects - as I've said before. Then it's ready.
After that Volcano addon, I start to create a meteorite addon. More information, when THIS addon has been published.
EDIT: Pff! Little problems with scripts.. I don't know when this will be published now :-\

Ok, I need a script what destroys EVERYTHING near a certain object ( Volcano )
I don't want to create it as trigger, I want that it's a script.

The Chain of Command's nuke had exactly this script somewhere..
Extract all the Cruise Missile scripts, and find files that contain NearestObject
