Title: What version of OFP are you using?
Post by: Archangel Scream on 16 Oct 2002, 23:47:46

Just curious...

Finally carried out a much needed reformat on my HD today, and reinstalled OFP.

But now, looking at it...I'm finding it hard to care to upgrade past 1.45, even though I bought Resistance.

Is it a sign of aging that I don't want to continue the rest of my life concerned with OFP upgrades, that maybe I want to just reach a nice stable point with OFP - and stay there?

Regardless, it prompted me to conduct a straw poll to see what others are using - are most keeping up with every upgrade, or is there a settled level others have found for themselves?

Just asking,

Brian

handy thing about resistance is that it upgrades it all the way to 1.75... saves time  ;)

1.85

I can't live without the new event handlers and if..then..else constructs.

1.85

A note to editors who have yet to upgrade from 1.75 to 1.85 the new patch removes the "show textures" option in the editor...This is NOT a good thing.

The button is still there for me.

I have 1.85 and that button works fine for me.
However, 1.85 has caused my ping to double in multiplayer, but other than that the thing runs fine.

I had me 1.0 for sooo long.. there's no turning back now. I just wish I could learn even half of the old stuff before new commands come puoring in  :P

And yah, the textures button is still alive and well.

Sadly, I'm on 1.75.   :-\

I can't update to 1.85....   Makes my OFP screw up every time....    >:(

Hopefully BIS will release a new patch or I'll have to wait until I upgrade my system.. (Think it has something to do with my graphics card)

 ???

Anyway, I can't play with all the new commands and toys..  Or BETA test any new missions... :'(

Well, my OFP is now quite screwed - BIS addons not found, missions saved from editor not having overview and cutscene scripts ercognised - and heli 30mm aims beyond the target.

Maaan...I think I'm gonna need to go back down to 1.46, were OFP was nice and cosy and worked properly...

 ???

check the news page - some weird bug in the patch seems to not be able to find files in some cases (luckily not in my case)

News??? Whereabouts, please? Is there a solution? Or am I condemned to treat Resistance as a virus?

I saw this:

Note which files it says are corrupted or otherwise knackered.

but I don't get that message - verifying Resistance - installed successfully!

Hmmm...

I realise that OFPEC isn't a technical helpdesk, so I would be grateful if anyone could IM or e-mail links to advice on the matter. At the moment reviewing is quite impossible, amongst other things.

 :(

Fourth reinstall in as many days and I'm figuring the addons error is specific to some older custom-made missions.

The scripting files issue was me being a total [politically incorrect term!]. I forgot that when saving a new version of a mission in the editor, you have to manually copy all the associated scripts into the new folder. Doh!

Time to move on with 1.85...forward, forward...left, forward, right, forward, forward...
