Summary

Randomly-generated dynamic campaign: you're the Resistance, fight off the Soviets!

Review by MachoMan

Overviews

Hmm, for a change I actually liked it, it was only one page ;).

Cinematics

Intro, what intro :(. In my opinion that sucks, I want an intro !!!

Outro, what outro? :(

Briefings

Well, all the briefings are pretty much straightforward, BIS style, nice and short. There really is one annoying thing though, no notes :(. Now that is a major no no, in my opinion, I really like notes which tell me a real story. I understand that creating a story with a random campaign is hard, but it's not impossible.

Missions

This campaign has four kinds of missions : Patrol, Relocate, Assassinate & Raid. I'll get into them individually.

Patrol
In the patrol mission your enemy heads out looking for your base, you on the other hand head out and look for them, cause you wouldn't wanna see any ruskies in your camp, would you? In the beginning, when your team is still small, this type can be a real pain in the arse, there are just too many Russians, you may find yourself fighting multiple groups of Russians, with just your AK.

Relocate
Now these missions are kinda dull, I usually find myself speeding past Russian patrol teams, while stuuuuuupid AI tries to shoot me.

Assassinate
Now this is where we see some real action, most high-ranking Russians seem to have a decent body gaurd.

Raid
Without these missions the campaign would have been unplayable, this is where you get your supplies and steal vehicles from time to time.

The good thing is none of the missions contain any flaws, but that's probably caused by their simplicity (not counting the randomness, that is). Still, no flaws is good. Weapons and vehicles are both transmitted between missions and reinforcements arrive randomly.

Special

Random and Endless.

Overall

(Review Date: Sep 2004) First off, I'd like to say that a random campaign is a very, very cool idea! (Although not entirely original).

Overall, it's not a bad mission. This is probably the first and last time I'll say this, I would have actually liked to have seen more movies. The missions get very dull after a while, they are in essence the same missions at another place. But still this campaign is a very interesting proof of concept, seeing it actually worked without getting me bored too fast, if the author would have included more mission types, some cutscenes, some custom sounds, you all know the drill. Still, I think people should really give it go, I liked it for at least five hours. Once again, this campaign could have been extremely cool.
