Overview

Not a good picture and some errors in the text. Average.

Intro

Not bad but some of the camera angles could be a bit better thought out.

Briefing

We are to smash two enemy positions in out M1A1 tanks. BIS style diary entry. Not really enough here to get me psyched up for the mission but it's a BIS style briefing so its ok.

Mission

Here is the Achillies heel. The idea of this mission, I think, is to let us sample the Abrams with the MG. I was salivating at the prospect. My dreams were dashed however when I realised how nearly impossible it is to be anything more than a passenger whilst the tank is rolling around the countryside. The author says that I was supposed to practice and make use of moments when the tank was stationary. Both opportunities were lacking as firstly, I'm not going to practice because I'm lazy, and secondly, whenever my tank stopped it was behind a tree or a house. Not the author's fault I know but all in all, with the dizzyness and the bad luck, I couldn't enjoy this mission at all. What with the turret constantly throwing me off aim and the bouncing around I managed only 4 kills. That aside, the mission was very well made and had some very good touches, so I will give it the thumbs up.

Overall

I think you should play it. You may well have better luck with the turret and as I said the mission is a good one. I always had faith that this author would produce decent missions and so it is proving to be. A little frustration here but not really down to him. However, it's lost a little kudos as I'm sure there are ways to make the experience a little less frustrating.

The 88 from Bunker Pack 4 is not strictly required, but it's in the addon list in the mission.sqm.

Also, the abrams_m2 addon will cause an error on starting OFP:
SA8_m1 requires addon 'psy_mcar'
