Summary

In the words of a beta tester: "Otherwise, where's the fun? I might as well go and buy an ant colony and watch that simulate."

Review by Tyger

Overview

Very professional looking. The picture had a border and was very clear. There was a little caption about the mission, and the author's contact.

Intro

There was not much camera scripting needed in this intro, which was a reporter detailing the extent of this zombie attack, but it utilized plenty of voice. Not anything extremely fancy though.

Briefing

The briefing was excellent. I was given plenty of information about what I had to do, how to do it and who I was facing. I also liked how the author included a detailed tutorial in the notes section on almost every aspect of this mission. There was no gear selection, but as the author stated, I am a poorly equipped National Guard unit. My soldiers' skills reflected that fact.

Mission

In one word, the mission was spectacular. I have a series of cities I need to evacuate. It is up to the player to get to as many civilians in time as possible. I divided my team into two parts, a team to a vehicle. Then I dropped off one of my NBC soldiers at each city, and told them to scan the horizon - this helped prevent any zombies from sneaking up on them. I began calling in the evacuate convoys as I moved on to the next city. Unfortunately, I am not very proficient in controlling AI via the Command Menu, but I found disembarking an AI, telling him to hide any bodies, and then scanning the horizon worked the best. I then evacuated the furthest cites that had civilians first, moving backward toward my base. I remained with my humvee and responded to any zombie attacks on my men, which seemed to work well, too. Still, those sodding zombies managed to get several cities, and I ended the mission with only about sixty civilians evacuated. Because everything evacuating each city is pretty much the same, I won't go into detail. The best thing about this mission is that the player can form a strategy that works for him. I drove over that giant mountain between San Alto and Belnuevo at maximum speed with no headlights on just to save the two civilian groups there from zombies. That was insane trying to doge giant boulders on the way down a mountain-side which you only touched half the time; the other half of the time you were in the air. My only complaint was that the evacuation times for more distant cities took forever. I would suggest using a chopper for the evacuation in any further editions of the mission.

Outro(s)

The outro was just credits to the mission, but the author used title resources very effectively making it. This was not very difficult either, but it was still good nonetheless.

Special

The mass amounts of scripting, voice, and time that went into this mission made this mission awesome.

Overall

This mission is really fun and exciting if you have a decent amount of patience, and it's up to the player how far he goes in the mission. The scripting in this mission made it fantastic and it gave me the creepy always-look-over-your-shoulder feeling; just great atmosphere. This was defiantly worth the enormous list of addons it uses.
